Ajak Riak joined South from Bentleigh ahead of the 2023 season. Riak played his youth football in Western Australia and his season at South was only his second at the senior level, however the forward made an impact at Lakeside and has gone onto bigger things.

In his season at South, Riak was joint top scorer, making 24 appearances and scoring 11 times. However his form saw him called up for national duty with South Sudan which saw him miss the 2023 Grand Final.

Riak left South to join Indonesian side PSS Sleman and has gone onto play for European side Sheriff Tiraspol and Uzebk side AGMK.

Riak continued to feature internationally and has clocked up 10 caps with South Sudan.

Another South player to go onto professional football internationally and international football for his country.
