In 2026 South Melbourne competed in OFC Professional League as a founding member. Here are the top moments:

1. South faced the Solomon Islands at the National Stadium in front of over 9,000 fans! In front of the biggest ever OPL crowd, South snatched a 1-1 draw with a 96^th minute goal from Leech.
2. South’s first ever OPL game against Tahiti United seemed likely to end in a draw, until Mesourouni stepped up at the 98^th minute to score a free kick and win the game.
3. Hundreds of South fans travelled to Auckland to support the team in the Grand Final. Despite the 2-1 loss to Auckland, it was a proud day for the club.

Many South players also made the OPL team of the season. This included Swibel (9 goals in 17 games) Lampard, Uchida and Mikkola.
